studio mäc

Architecture & Territory

Our practice focuses on the transformation of existing conditions, raw and local material, from the territory to architecture that offers specific and poetic answers.

studiomäc is an architecture practice based in Paris and Frankfurt, founded in 2025. Sharing a common interest in the relationship between architecture and territory, Julia and Augustin created studiomäc as a collaborative platform.

We work with a wide range of scales and typologies —from new constructions with local resources to the careful transformation of existing structures. Working across both urban and rural contexts, our projects are shaped by a strong focus on the context and local potentialities

We stand for the transformation of existing conditions and a sustainable approach to construction materials.

We seek simplicity, space & poetry.

Julia Mäckler is a co-founder of studiomäc, based in Paris and Frankfurt since 2025. Prior to that, she led the Berlin office of Mäckler Architekten from 2020 to 2025. She has been a registered member of the Berlin Chamber of Architects since 2023.

Julia gained international experience working with Morris + Company in London in 2019, following several years at Max Dudler Architekten in Berlin and Munich between 2015 and 2018.

She holds a Master of Arts in Architecture from the Technical University of Munich (2018) and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam (2015).

Augustin Clément is an architect and teacher, co-founder of studiomäc, and academic head at ALICE EPFL.
